Gisèle Maltais
Professional Accountant
G.M. Accounting Solutions Inc.

I obtained my high-school diploma in 1979 in Sudbury, Ontario, graduating with a straight A average. I joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1980, studied accounting and did bookkeeping tasks including payroll for 6 years. In 1986, I left the Forces and did part-time studies in accounting and computers at Cambrian College. Later that year, I found employment with a firm of Chartered Accountants in Sudbury. It was there that I honed in on my preferred area of corporate accounting and taxation. During the next 22 years my duties included personal and corporate tax returns, Review and Compilation Engagement Financial Statements, CRA audit appeals, cash flow forecasts, passing of estate accounts, T3, T4, T5 slips, non-profit information returns and a multitude of other government filings. In the later years, I also provided training to C.A. interns, met and discussed financial results with business owners and with the
added responsibilities became a "team manager".

In 2008, combining my accounting skills with my entrepreneurial vision, I started my own small home-based business offering onsite year-end accounting and taxation services to local small business corporations. Part of my objectives when working with clients is to help them to become more efficient with their daily bookkeeping tasks, maximize expenses they may be entitled to and be more bullet-proof against CRA audits.
In 2015, I passed the exam and joined a professional accountant association called the Association of Professional Accounting & Tax Consultants Inc. This association provides me with professional development opportunities, helping me to stay current with the rapidly changing tax rules and providing me with a network of other non-designate accountants.

Today, I am enjoying working closely with 50 or 60 local small businesses providing them with a personalized year-end service that is professional and easy on their budget.
